Teletovic leads Nets past Mavericks

The Nets got their fourth straight win and ninth in their last 10 games and Teletovic had the hot hand.
He surpassed his previous career-high of 19 points in one quarter, making his first six 3-point attempts in the second as the Nets build a double-digit lead.
Dallas was within two points when Dirk Nowitzki missed the second of two free throws on purpose with 7.1 seconds left. Andrei Kirilenko secured the rebound for Brooklyn and made two foul shots at the other end to seal the win. Monta Ellis hit a three at the buzzer for the final margin.
Deron Williams had 18 points and 11 assists coming off the bench again for the Nets, who have won seven in a row at home.
Kevin Garnett added 10 points and 11 rebounds in the victory and Paul Pierce scored 12, though he missed two foul shots down the stretch to put Brooklyn in a precarious position.
Vince Carter scored 19 to lead the Mavericks and Nowitzki had 18. Dallas went 1-2 on a three-game road trip and lost for the fourth time in its last six.
Teletovic was 7-of-11 from 3-point range and the Nets bench outscored Dallas' 74-46. He knocked down his last three with 4:35 remaining to give Brooklyn an 11-point lead, and made a one-hander on the low left side to stop the 6-0 Dallas run that followed.
"Mirza was going good pretty much the whole game and he made a big shot down the end for us," said Nets coach Jason Kidd.
After sitting out the first quarter, Teletovic made his first 3-point attempt to begin the second. He hit his sixth with 2:48 remaining to give the Nets a 48-36 lead.
"He doesn't just show up on game day and shoot," said Kidd. "He's been working really hard on his game and his teammates believe in him."
The hot-shooting Bosnian's only miss from beyond the arc in the quarter came on a desperation heave at the buzzer.
"(Teletovic) hit his first couple of shots and we just let him keep going. You just can't do that with professional shooters," Mavs head coach Rick Carlisle said.
The Nets, after trailing by three at the end of the first quarter, shot better than 76 percent in the second and took a 57-46 lead into halftime. They led 78-70 going into the fourth.
