Mavs, Grizzlies hook up in Memphis

Feb 5, 2014 - 3:55 PM (SportsNetwork.com) - The Memphis Grizzlies look to get back on track when they host the Dallas Mavericks Wednesday night at FedExForum.

The Grizzlies had won six in a row and 11 of 12 games until dropping an 86-77 decision to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday. Zach Randolph netted 13 points to go with 13 rebounds, while Marc Gasol added 13 points for Memphis, which shot 39.5 percent and allowed 31 points to Kevin Durant.

"The second half was much better than the first. We played from too far behind," Grizzlies head coach Dave Joerger said. "It was very difficult for us because when you try to come back you have a very small margin for error."

Mike Miller and Courtney Lee both scored 11 points in a losing cause.

Memphis is 13-13 at home this season.

Dallas has won two in a row and three of four games, including Monday's 124-107 triumph over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Dirk Nowitzki had 23 points and Monta Ellis added 22 for the Mavs, while Devin Harris posted 16.

Harris has scored at least 14 points in three of his first eight games of the season since returning from toe surgery.

"Just trying to get comfortable out there," he said. "I am trying to make the most of my minutes."

Dallas is 2-0 against Memphis this season, but has dropped five in a row and eight of 10 games on Beale Street. The Mavs will visit Memphis on April 16.
