Bucks aim for 10th win, host New Orleans

Feb 12, 2014 - 3:10 PM (SportsNetwork.com) - Perhaps a break from the action is what the lowly Milwaukee Bucks need at this point in the season.

The Bucks will play their final game before the All-Star break Wednesday versus the New Orleans Pelicans at the Bradley Center and have the NBA's worst record at 9-42. They're the only team in the league with single-digit wins.

Milwaukee has struggled all season, but is 2-18 since the calendar turned. The losing ways continued with Monday's 102-86 setback versus Boston, as Jeff Green paced the Celtics with 29 points and Brandon Knight led Milwaukee with 22 points. Gary Neal scored 17 points off the bench for the Bucks, who are 0-2 on their six-game homestand with losses to Houston and Boston.

The Bucks had 21 turnovers, leading to 32 Celtics points, and made 43.1 percent of their shots. Boston scored 32 of the 50 points in the fourth quarter.

"You just can't turn the basketball over," Bucks coach Larry Drew admitted. "We just turned the basketball over today and it put us in such a dilemma. We got out of rhythm in particularly that fourth quarter."

Milwaukee will resume the homestand on Feb. 18 versus Orlando, Denver and Indiana, and is only 5-20 in Brew City this season.

New Orleans will close out a three-game road trip before the All-Star festivities and have lost the first two tilts at Brooklyn and Toronto.

The Pelicans sustained a 108-101 setback against the Raptors on Monday, as Tyreke Evans led the visitors with 23 points and 10 assists, and Anthony Davis added 19 points to go with seven rebounds. Brian Roberts and Eric Gordon -- both starters -- finished with 18 and 10 points, respectively.

"We didn't get much production from our starters and dug ourselves a hole," New Orleans head coach Monte Williams said Monday night. "We just didn't seem to have enough juice, so it's nice to have a day off tomorrow."

New Orleans shot 50.6 percent and made 6-of-12 3-pointers in falling to 9-17 away from the Crescent City this season. The team had won seven of 10 games before opening this current road trip.

The Pelicans and Bucks split a pair of meetings last season and are scheduled to play again March 7 in the Big Easy. The Pelicans have won 12 of the last 14 games in this series and are 5-2 in the past seven trips to Brew City.
