Grizzlies top Magic

Feb 13, 2014 - 5:37 AM Orlando, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Zach Randolph scored a game-high 20 points to lead the Memphis Grizzlies to an 86-81 win over the Orlando Magic on Wednesday.

Courtney Lee added 17 points while Tayshaun Prince and Nick Calathes finished with 14 and 12 points, respectively, for the Grizzlies, winners in three of their last four games.

"This is a huge win for us. There's a big difference in the West between being four games over .500 or being six games over .500," said Grizzlies coach David Joerger.

In the third quarter, Grizzlies center Marc Gasol left the game after injuring his left knee. Gasol, who missed 23 games earlier this season after injuring the same knee, banged knees with Orlando guard Jameer Nelson.

"It was our game, I thought, right there. We let one slip away," Harris said.

Gasol fell to the ground in obvious pain. He eventually limped off the court and to the locker room.

He had four points and five rebounds before exiting.

Nikola Vucevic had 13 points and 10 rebounds and Tobias Harris finished with 13 points and seven boards for the Magic, who had a three-game winning streak snapped.

Glen Davis scored 12 points and Arron Afflalo added 10 in the setback.

The Grizzlies held a 64-61 lead at the start of the fourth quarter. After Orlando took a 65-64 lead just over 1 1/2 minutes into the frame, the Grizzlies scored six straight points to go up 70-65.

An 11-7 swing put the Magic in front 77-76 with 4:24 left as Vucevic nailed a 20-footer. The Grizzlies, however, used a 10-2 run to go up 86-79 with nine seconds remaining, and Orlando couldn't get closer than five the rest of the way.

Randolph scored nine points on 4-of-4 shooting in the first quarter as Memphis jumped out to a 24-17 lead after 12 minutes. The Grizzlies shot 52.4 percent in the frame.

In the second quarter, Memphis' lead swelled to 13 points, 36-23, after an Ed Davis alley-oop slam, but the Magic scored seven straight to make it a two- possession game. The Grizzlies then pushed the spread back to double digits, 42-32. Harris added a jumper with 42 seconds left to make it 42-34 at the break.

Lee gave the Grizzlies a 48-38 lead with his jumper at the 8:06 mark, but a 12-2 surge from the Magic tied things up at 50-50 with just under six minutes to go in the third.

Neither side built a lead larger than four the rest of the way as the Grizzlies took a 64-61 lead into the final frame.
