Bucks try for elusive 10th win with Orlando in town
Feb 18, 2014 - 3:03 PM (SportsNetwork.com) - The Milwaukee Bucks hope the All-Star break did them a favor, as they get back to work Tuesday versus the Orlando Magic. The Bucks are an NBA-worst 9-43 on the season and entered this weekend's festivities with four straight losses and a 2-19 record since Jan. 2.
Milwaukee is winless (0-3) so far on a six-game homestand and suffered a 102-98 loss to New Orleans last Wednesday. Brandon Knight (22), Gary Neal (18), Ersan Ilyasova (16), Nate Wolters (14) and Khris Middleton (11) scored in double figures in a losing cause.
"When you look at it, we have too many games like this," said Ilyasova. "We have to do our job early."
New Orleans had a 37-27 advantage in the third quarter.
The Bucks have a 5-21 home record this season and will also host Denver and Indiana on the stay. They are 27-17 in franchise history in the first game played following the All-Star break.
In notable injury news for Milwaukee, forward John Henson (ankle/foot) and guard Luke Ridnour (back) are questionable versus the Magic.
Orlando is slated to play two straight and six of the next seven games on the road and recorded a 3-23 road ledger before the All-Star break. The Magic have lost 12 in a row on the road, last winning as the guest Dec. 16 at Chicago.
The Magic had a three-game winning streak stopped in the finale of a four-game homestand last Wednesday in an 86-81 setback to Memphis, as Nikola Vucevic ended with 13 points and 10 rebounds to lead the way.
Tobias Harris also scored 13 points, Glen Davis netted 12 and Arron Afflalo chipped in 10 for the Magic, who posted wins over NBA powers Indiana and Oklahoma City during the winning streak.
"It was our game, I thought, right there. We let one slip away," Harris said.
Magic rookie Victor Oladipo headed to the break averaging 13.9 points, 4.4 rebounds and 4.0 assists, and is a frontrunner for Rookie of the Year.
Orlando has defeated Milwaukee twice this season and is 13-3 in the last 16 matchups between the teams. The Magic have lost two in a row as the guest in this series.
