Futility Battle: Sixers play host to Bucks

Feb 24, 2014 - 3:23 PM (SportsNetwork.com) - Two of the worst teams the NBA has to offer collide Monday at Wells Fargo Center, where the Philadelphia 76ers take on the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Bucks have the worst record in the league at 10-45 and Philadelphia is slightly ahead with a 15-41 mark. Both teams are putting themselves in good position for a lottery pick in this summer's draft.

Philadelphia has lost 10 in a row and fell to 0-9 in February with Friday's 124-112 loss to the Dallas Mavericks.

Thaddeus Young ended with 30 points, 13 rebounds, six assists and seven steals for the Sixers, who have lost nine straight at home and are 8-20 at Wells Fargo Center. Michael Carter-Williams and Tony Wroten had 25 and 21 points, respectively, in defeat.

"I just tried to be very, very motivated, play hard and to finish it the right way and try to help my team win games," Young said.

Philly turned the ball over 16 times versus Dallas and is averaging a league- high 17.4 turnovers this season.

The Sixers, who have gone 3-20 since a season-high four-game winning streak from Dec. 29-Jan. 4, are 0-2 on a five-game homestand and lost 12 in a row in south Philly back in 1996-97. They have lost 15 of 17 games as the host.

Orlando and Washington are scheduled to visit the City of Brotherly Love.

Philadelphia is allowing an NBA-worst 110.7 ppg this season and opponents have scored 100 or more points in each of the last 10 games. It hasn't allowed 100- plus points in more than 10 straight games in a single season since the final 11 games of the 1996-97 campaign.

Meanwhile, the Bucks will play two straight on the road against Philadelphia and Indiana, and are winless in the last 10 games away from the Bradley Center.

Milwaukee just went 1-5 on a recent homestand and suffered a 110-100 loss to the Pacers on Saturday, as Paul George, David West and Lance Stephenson combined for 86 points. The Bucks were led by Brandon Knight's 30 points on 12-of-23 shooting, while Khris Middleton and Ersan Ilyasova scored 13 and 12 points, respectively.

"I'm happy for our team because that's in my opinion, a top two team in the NBA, and for us to not give in and lay down means a lot for our team," said Knight.

Ramon Sessions and Jeff Adrien both saw their first action in a Bucks uniform after they were acquired from Charlotte before the trade deadline. Sessions scored seven points and grabbed three rebounds, while Adrien finished with a team-high 11 rebounds to go with six points and three assists.

The Bucks have lost 21 of their last 24 games. Caron Butler did not play versus Indiana because of an ankle injury and is questionable Monday.

Milwaukee and Philadelphia have split a pair of meetings this season with each team holding serve as the host. Milwaukee has lost two straight, five of six and 10 of the last 13 meetings in south Philly.
