LeBron, Wade lead Heat past Knicks

Dwyane Wade was pretty good, too.
James and Wade combined for 54 points on an incredibly efficient shooting display as the Miami Heat pounded the reeling Knicks 108-82 at American Airlines Arena.
James, one week after suffering a broken nose in a win over the Thunder, shot 13-of-19 from the floor and finished with 31 points. The four-time league MVP missed Monday's victory over the Bulls because of the injury and wore a protective black mask over the top half of his face in Thursday's rout.
"I was able to get a carbon-fiber (mask), which is actually lighter than the one I'd been wearing in practice. It came through at the last minute and I went with it," James said.
Wade added 23 points on 10-of-13 shooting for the Heat, who shot 60.3 percent overall and pulled away for their sixth consecutive win with a dominant third quarter.
The free-falling Knicks have dropped four straight and seven of their last eight despite a 29-point effort from Carmelo Anthony and a 19-point, 16- rebound showing from Tyson Chandler.
New York trailed by 16 in the second quarter but chipped away at the deficit and pulled within 55-50 at the break.
Hopes of a comeback quickly dwindled in the third, however, as they were outscored by a 32-14 margin as a result of Miami hitting 12-of-17 (70.6 percent) of their shots.
Wade capped an 11-0 run with a three-point play that put Miami ahead by a 75-61 margin with under four minutes left in the period, and James scored seven points on a quarter-ending 10-0 surge that made it an 87-64 rout.
"We just didn't respond," New York head coach Mike Woodson admitted. "It was like we went blank and stopped playing."
The benches emptied in the fourth with the outcome no longer in doubt.
