Garbajosa, Raptors top Cavaliers; James sits out

Oct 19, 2006 - 2:50 AM ROCHESTER, New York (Ticker) -- Without LeBron James, the Cleveland Cavaliers were no match for the revamped Toronto Raptors.

Undrafted rookie Jorge Garbajosa scored 16 points and No. 1 overall pick Andrea Bargnani added 13 as the Raptors posted a 103-81 victory over the Cavaliers to remain unbeaten in the preseason.

On the second night of a back-to-back, Cleveland coach Mike Brown decided to rest James. The 21-year-old superstar collected 13 points, eight rebounds and eight assists in Tuesday night's 93-67 victory over Israeli power Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Toronto (4-0) has made a concerted effort to change its style of play to an uptempo, European-style team, and it has worked so far in the preseason.

Garbajosa, who helped Spain to the gold medal in the World Championships during the summer, was 5-of-10 from the field, connecting on four 3-pointers. Bargnani, a 6-10 forward/center from Italy, was 5-of-11 from the floor. Fred Jones also had 13 points on 6-of-13 shooting for the Raptors.

Drew Gooden netted 15 points and undrafted first-year guard Daniel Gibson had 13 for the Cavaliers, who shot 46 percent (33-of-72).
