White, Williams lead Pacers to win
Oct 22, 2006 - 3:13 AM MOLINE, Illinois (Ticker) -- James White and fellow rookie Shawne Williams are learning how to put away a game down the stretch.Stephen Jackson scored 20 points, Danny Granger added 18 and White and Williams combined for 13 in the closing moments as the Indiana Pacers posted a 98-91 preseason victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves.
During the final 5:02, White, a second-round pick acquired from Portland on draft night, netted eight points and first-round selection Williams added six of his 11 as the Pacers put together a decisive 18-5 run.
Jackson made 6-of-10 shots from the floor, including two 3-pointers, and all six foul shots for Indiana.
Kevin Garnett scored 17 points and Ricky Davis added 14 for the Timberwolves.
