O'Neal, Daniels help Pacers defeat Grizzlies

Oct 18, 2007 - 2:02 AM INDIANAPOLIS (Ticker) -- Jermaine O'Neal had 22 points and 11 rebounds and Marquis Daniels scored 24 points as the Indiana Pacers defeated the Memphis Grizzlies, 122-115, in a preseason contest on Wednesday.

With the win, the Pacers and new head coach Jim O'Brien remained undefeated in preseason play with a 4-0 record.

Mike Dunleavy Jr. added 16 points for the Pacers, who led by 21 at halftime and by as many as 28 midway through the third quarter.

The Grizzlies cut the Pacers' lead to seven at 108-101 with 5:50 left, but the Pacers scored the next six points en route to a 13-point bulge with just under four minutes to play.

Memphis again cut into Indiana's lead, trimming the deficit to six with 58 seconds left, but Jamaal Tinsley made 4-of-4 free throws down the stretch to secure the victory.

Rudy Gay scored 22 points to lead Memphis, which shot just 29.5 percent (13-of-44) in the first half.

Mike Conley Jr., the fourth overall pick in this year's draft, had 11 points and 10 assists in 29 minutes for the Grizzlies.
