Brewer sends Jazz to easy victory over Lakers
Oct 24, 2007 - 4:57 AM ANAHEIM, California (Ticker) -- Ronnie Brewer scored 18 points to lead six players in double figures and help the Utah Jazz cruise to a 102-81 rout of the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday.Paul Millsap, Carlos Boozer and Mehmet Okur all finished with 10 rebounds for the Jazz.
Utah began the game by dominating play in the first quarter, outscoring Los Angeles, 34-14. The Jazz blistered the nets shooting 59 percent, hitting 13-of-22 shots in the opening period.
Kobe Bryant ended the game shooting just 4-of-16 from the field, finishing with 15 points to lead the Lakers. Maurice Evans added 11 points for Los Angeles, which fell to 2-4 in the exhibition season.
The Lakers on Tuesday canceled their preseason game against the Jazz in San Diego on Thursday due to raging wildfires in the surrounding area.
