Pistons host Hawks in home opener
Nov 4, 2007 - 2:40 PM Atlanta (1-0) at Detroit (2-0) 7:30 pm EDTAUBURN HILLS, Michigan (Ticker) -- Despite being shorthanded, the Detroit Pistons have had very little challenges from their opponents this season.
The Pistons will try to remain undefeated when they host the Atlanta Hawks in an Eastern Conference matchup on Sunday.
The Pistons have rolled by both of their foes, including an impressive 116-92 triumph over the Orlando Magic on Friday behind Ronald Murray's 19 points off the bench.
Pistons guard Richard Hamilton could be back in the starting lineup for coach Flip Saunders after missing the pervious two games due to the birth of a child. He led the team in scoring at 19.8 points last season.
With Hamilton returning to the rotation, Tayshaun Prince's new-found offense might take a drop off. The lefthanded 6-9 forward is averaging 25.5 points so far this campaign.
Atlanta is coming off its stunning 101-94 victory over the Dallas Mavericks in Friday's home opener. Swingman Joe Johnson led the charge with 28 points.
Hawks rookie Al Horford had nine points and 10 rebounds in just 10 minutes in his NBA debut. The 6-10 forward was taken third overall out of Florida, where he won back-to-back national championships.
