Durant, Sonics aim for first win vs. Grizzlies

Nov 7, 2007 - 3:50 PM Memphis (0-2) at Seattle (0-4) 10:00 pm EST

SEATTLE (Ticker) -- Seattle SuperSonics fans may be witnessing the first and only season Kevin Durant will spend in the "Queen City."

Durant and the SuperSonics look for their first win of the season Wednesday when they host the winless Memphis Grizzlies.

The Sonics, who have not started 0-5 since the 1969-70 season, are playing the first game at home since owner Clay Bennett announced his intentions to move the team to Oklahoma City.

Bennett said the team cannot stay in Seattle without a new arena. So far, there are no plans for a new arena, which means they may be Oklahoma City-bound.

Therefore, Seattle fans better watch the ultra-talented Durant while they can. So far, the second overall pick of June's draft has been as good as advertised.

On Tuesday, the 19-year-old Durant scored 27 points, grabbed seven rebounds and dished out four assists in a 104-98 loss to the Sacramento Kings.

Durant's 24.0 points a game lead the team, and he has shot 50 percent (32-for-64) in the past three games.

The Grizzlies also are in search of their first win after allowing the Indiana Pacers to shoot 52 percent (47-of-89) in a 121-111 loss Sunday.

Guard Kyle Lowry, who scored a career-high 19 points Sunday, has been a bright spot for Memphis, averaging 13.5 points and 5.0 assists.

Seattle won two of the three meetings with Memphis a season ago.
