Sixers look to continue home success against Toronto

Nov 9, 2007 - 2:39 PM Toronto (2-3) at Philadelphia (2-2) 7:00 pm EST

PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- With 14 of their first 23 games at home, the schedule appears to favor the Philadelphia 76ers. The question remains whether the Sixers can take full advantage.

Philadelphia hosts the Toronto Raptors on Friday looking for its first victory over an Atlantic Division opponent.

The 76ers have dropped their first two games against divisional foes, but has momentum coming into their third after routing the Charlotte Bobcats, 94-63, on Wednesday.

Andre Iguodala scored 19 points and Willie Green added 14 for Philadelphia in a game that featured the debut of first-round draft pick Thaddeus Young. The 6-8 forward finished with six points and three rebounds in 11 minutes.

Picked to finish near the bottom of the Eastern Conference, the Sixers have been competitive in all four games and would like nothing better than to be over .500 when their four-game homestand ends Sunday.

The defending division champion Raptors started the season with a pair of victories, but are now 2-3 after a 105-96 home loss to Orlando on Wednesday.

One night after failing to make a field goal for the second time in his pro career, Toronto's Chris Bosh scored 26 points, going 6-for-15 from the floor and 14-for-14 from the free-throw line. He also had 10 rebounds.

Andrea Bargnani had 16 points for Toronto, while T.J. Ford had 12 points and eight assists.

Philadelphia's 122-119 victory over Toronto last April 18 ended a four-game losing streak in the series.
