Jazz look to continue winning ways vs. Grizzlies

Nov 10, 2007 - 2:36 PM Memphis (1-3) at Utah (4-2) 9:00 pm EST

SALT LAKE CITY (Ticker) -- The Utah Jazz try to continue their winning ways on Saturday when they face the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Jazz are coming off a thrilling 103-101 victory over the Seattle SuperSonics on Friday. Carlos Boozer hit a layup with 18 seconds left to play snapping a 101-101 tie.

On the ensuing possesion, rookie Kevin Durant drove the lane and went for the jump shot, but Andrei Kirilenko partially blocked the shot as the Jazz came away with their second-straight win.

Boozer is off to a strong start this season, registering double-doubles in each of his first six games. The 25-year-old power forward is averaging 24.0 points and 13.2 rebounds. Kirilenko, who asked to be traded during the offseason and was even willing to forfeit the remaining $63 million on his contract to leave Utah, appears to be content with his current situation, averaging 10.2 points, 5.8 rebounds and five assists.

The Grizzlies, meanwhile, have struggled to find their form this season, losing their first three games of the season before breaking through against the Sonics on Wednesday.

However, Memphis suffered their fourth setback in five games on Friday, losing 110-98 to the Portland Trail Blazers.

Despite the loss, Rudy Gay led the Grizzlies with 31 points. The second-year swingman from Connecticut is trying to improve upon his sub-par rookie season when he averaged just 10.8 points and 4.5 rebounds.
