Rockets visit Bobcats, look to continue hot start

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina (Ticker) -- The Houston Rockets look to continue their hot start to the season when they visit the Charlotte Bobcats on Sunday.

Houston has not opened a season 6-1 since the 1996-97 season, when it won 15 of its first 16 games.

Yao Ming has scored 28 points in each of his last two games - both wins, including a 104-88 victory over Milwaukee where Yao was matched up against Bucks rookie Yi Jianlian.

The Rockets center is averaging 22.3 points to go with 10.8 rebounds per game this season. Tracy McGrady leads the team in scoring, netting 27.5 points per game - which ranks third in the league.

Yao will have to deal with Charlottte center Emeka Okafor, who is averaging 13.8 points and 13.6 rebounds this season. The Bobcats have four players who average in double figures, with point guard Raymond Felton leading the way at 18.5 points per contest.

In just their fourth year of existence, the Bobcats have their best record through the first five games of the season.

Charlotte never has been two games or more above .500 at any point in franchise history.

The Rockets have won the last three meetings between the teams, including both contests last year where they outscored the Bobcats, 196-145.
