Parker looks to lead Spurs to third straight win vs. Bucks

Nov 11, 2007 - 2:05 PM Milwaukee (2-3) at San Antonio (5-1) 8:00 pm EST

SAN ANTONIO (Ticker) -- Tony Parker doesn't seem to be fazed by his hectic summer.

Parker and the defending champion San Antonio Spurs aim for a third straight win when they host the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday.

Parker, who got married over the summer and then played for the French national team, scored a 27 points and dished out eight assists in Friday's 97-85 win over New Orleans.

The Finals MVP missed several preseason games due to his commitment with his national team, but has not missed a beat.

The six-year veteran is averaging a career-best 20.3 points and is the only player to score 15 points in each of the Spurs' first six games.

Parker's hot start is not good news for Milwaukee, which is winless in two road games.

What is good news for the Bucks is the promising play of rookie Yi Jianlian. Jianlian scored 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds on Friday in a matchup against Yao Ming's Houston Rockets that drew over 200 million viewers in China.

While the Bucks lost the game, 104-88, they have to be encouraged by the play of the sixth overall pick of June's draft. The 20-year-old forward is averaging 11.6 points and 5.6 rebounds, and he has thoroughly impressed his countryman.

"It's sad to think," Yao said with a smile after the game. "But he may be better than me before he's finished."

Milwaukee has lost four of its last five here, but swept the two-game series last season.
