Pistons begin five-game road trip at Durant, Sonics

SEATTLE (Ticker) -- Chauncey Billups and the Detroit Pistons take their show to the West Coast.

Billups and the Pistons look to get their five-game tour of the Western Conference off to a positive start Sunday when they visit the winless Seattle SuperSonics.

On Saturday, Billups scored a season-high 23 points as the Pistons bounced back from their first loss of the season with a 103-78 triumph over the Los Angeles Clippers.

Detroit has won five straight matchups in the series, with its last loss coming here on March 4, 2005.

While the Pistons are enduring another stellar start, Seattle is battling through some growing pains with its young and inexperience squad.

Most recently, the SuperSonics was close to earning their first victory this campaign, but came up short, 103-101, to the Utah Jazz on Friday.

One plus coach P.J. Carlesimo can take away from the loss was rookie Jeff Green's performance. The fifth overall pick in June's draft, Green scored 19 points off bench on 7-of-12 shots.

If Green can produce one a more consistent bases, it shouldn't be long before he joins fellow rookie Kevin Durant in the starting lineup. Durant averages a team-best 22.2 points.

Also Sunday's matchup could be the season debut for veteran big man Kurt Thomas after resting on the sidelined with his nagging hamstring. Thomas was acquired in an offseason trade from Phoenix.
