Lewis faces former team as Magic host winless SuperSonics

Nov 13, 2007 - 3:07 PM Seattle (0-7) at Orlando (4-3) 7:00 pm EST

ORLANDO, Florida (Ticker) -- Rashard Lewis will get his chance to show the Seattle SuperSonics what they are missing.

Lewis faces his former team for the first time when the Orlando Magic host the winless SuperSonics on Tuesday.

After spending nine seasons in Seattle, the 28-year-old Lewis left for a six-year, $110 million in a sign-and-trade deal with the Magic. The Sonics selected the talented forward with the 32rd overall pick directly out of high school in the 1998 draft.

On Saturday, Lewis managed just seven points on 3-of-14 shooting as Orlando had its three-game winning streak snapped with a 106-96 setback to the Phoenix Suns.

Meanwhile, the Sonics have bigger problems than being concerned with Lewis.

Seattle fell to 0-7 this season following Sunday's 107-103 loss to the Detroit Pistons despite getting 36 combined points from rookies Kevin Durant and Jeff Green.

"I think we're being aggressive," Durant said. "In the second half, we played with a lot of heart and much harder. Unfortunately, we didn't come out with the win, but I felt we played much better."

The young and inexperienced Sonics are off to their worst start in team history, breaking the 1969-70 squad's 0-6 beginning.
