Durant, Sonics look for first win vs. Heat

Nov 14, 2007 - 2:06 PM Seattle (0-8) at Miami (1-6) 7:30 pm EST

MIAMI (Ticker) - The Kevin Durant era is off to a rocky start.

Durant and the Seattle SuperSonics aim for their first win of the season when they visit the struggling Miami Heat on Wednesday.

Seattle, which is off to a franchise-worst 0-8 start, was blown out by Orlando, 103-76, on Tuesday.

The second overall pick in June's draft, Durant scored just 10 points on 4-of-13 shooting, and is shooting just 33 percent (18-of-54) in his past three games.

But Durant and the Sonics hope to take advantage of a Miami team that looks nothing like the squad that won a championship in 2005.

While Seattle was expected to struggle, Miami is a different story. The Heat won their third straight Southeast Division title last season, but are averaging a league-worst 83.2 points, and are off to their worst start since 2003-04.

Miami is still without superstar guard Dwyane Wade, who is recovering from offseason shoulder and knee surgeries.

Shaquille O'Neal scored 17 points, but the rest of the starters managed just 24 in a 91-76 loss to Charlotte on Tuesday.
