Aldridge, Trail Blazers go for fifth straight win

Nov 14, 2007 - 2:25 PM Portland (4-3) at Denver (5-3) 9:00 pm EST

DENVER (Ticker) - Even without Greg Oden, the Portland Trail Blazers look much improved.

LaMarcus Aldridge will try to lead the Trail Blazers to their fifth consecutive victory when they visit the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday in a matchup between Northwest Division foes.

Aldridge collected 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Brandon Roy added 20 points as Portland defeated the Detroit Pistons, 102-94, on Tuesday. Aldridge has scored in double figures in each of his last five contests.

The Blazers, who lost Oden - the first overall pick in June's draft - for the season with microfracture surgery on the left knee, have received great production from Roy. The reigning Rookie of the Year has notched 20-plus point games on five different occasions this season.

Despite their success, the Blazers are 0-3 away from home.

After a rough start, the Nuggets have strung together three straight triumphs. The offense has really picked it up, averaging nearly 118 points per game during the winning streak.

Allen Iverson scored a season-high 37 points as Denver coasted to a 122-100 triumph over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday.
