Durant, Sonics aim for second straight win vs. Hawks
Nov 16, 2007 - 3:01 PM Seattle (1-8) at Atlanta (3-4) 7:30 pm ESTATLANTA (Ticker) -- If history is any indicator, Kevin Durant and the Seattle SuperSonics' second win may come a lot faster than the first did.
Fresh off their first win of the season, Durant and the SuperSonics aim for their eighth straight victory over the Atlanta Hawks when the teams square off Friday.
The second overall pick of June's draft, Durant scored 20 points to help the Sonics hold off a frantic rally by Dwyane Wade and the Miami Heat in a 104-95 win on Wednesday.
The victory had to be a relief for the rookie and his teammates, who set a franchise record by losing eight straight games to start the season.
Although Durant has not been around for Seattle's recent meetings with Atlanta, he would like to help the Sonics to their fourth straight win here.
Seattle, which may be playing its last season in the "Queen City," has not lost to Atlanta since a 91-81 setback on November 9, 2003.
The Hawks are coming off Wednesday's 117-109 win over the Charlotte Bobcats in which Joe Johnson scored a season-high 34 points.
