Davis, Warriors begin five-game East Coast swing
Nov 18, 2007 - 1:57 PM Golden State (1-6) at Toronto (5-4) 1:00 pm ESTTORONTO (Ticker) - The Golden State Warriors begin a five-game road trip Sunday when they face the Toronto Raptors.
After losing their first six games, the Warriors broke into the win column with Friday's 122-105 triumph over the Los Angeles Clippers. Andris Biedrins collected 23 points and a career-best 18 rebounds and Al Harrington scored 27 points to pace Golden State.
"A great feeling," Harrington said. "Now we've got to build on it. One game at a time. It was a good sign, a good win for our fans and a good sign for us. We got that monkey off our back and now hopefully we can start getting wins and playing Warriors' basketball."
The Warriors should also receive a huge boost from Stephen Jackson, who returns after serving a seven-game suspension for firing a handgun outside of an Indianapolis strip club last year while with the Pacers.
"We get Captain Jack back, (Jackson) and hopefully we start making some moves," Harrington added.
Toronto won for the third time in four outings after holding off the Indiana Pacers, 110-101, here on Friday. Chris Bosh carried the load with 22 points.
Raptors coach Sam Mitchell hopes last season's No. 1 overall pick Andrea Bargnani snaps out of his disappointing early slump. The 22-year-old is averaging just 7.8 points after scoring at least 20 in the first two games of the season.
