Durant, Sonics aim to bounce back vs. Grizzlies

Nov 19, 2007 - 2:33 PM Seattle (2-9) at Memphis (2-6) 8:00 pm EST

MEMPHIS, Tennessee (Ticker) - Kevin Durant and the Seattle SuperSonics are going through some growing pains.

Durant and the SuperSonics aim to rebound from a disappointing loss when they visit the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday.

Seattle, which won two straight after an 0-8 start, was brought back to reality by Charlotte on Saturday.

Durant shot just 3-of-12 from the floor, and the Sonics shot just 31 percent in the 100-84 loss to the Bobcats.

As with any young team, consistency is hard to come by. For instance, Durant scored 20 points in a win over the Dwyane Wade-led Miami Heat on Wednesday. He followed that up by hitting a game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer in an overtime win over Atlanta on Friday.

But Charlotte made 10 3-pointers on Saturday and quickly halted any momentum Seattle was starting to build.

Now they will look to rebound against Memphis, which is coming off a 108-105 loss to Dallas on Saturday. Mike Miller scored 23 points and Hakim Warrick added 17 for the Grizzlies, who lost rookie point guard Mike Conley Jr. in the process.

The fourth-overall pick in June's draft, Conley suffered a strained shoulder in the third quarter and did not return.
