Celtics aim to bounce back from first loss of season

Nov 21, 2007 - 2:33 PM Golden State (3-6) at Boston (8-1) 7:30 pm EST

BOSTON (Ticker) -- Life goes on for Kevin Garnett and the Boston Celtics.

Garnett and the Celtics hope to bounce back from their first loss of the season when they host the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday.

Boston won its first eight contests this season, crushing opponents by a margin of 15.2 points per game.

But the Celtics came up just short against the Orlando Magic on Sunday, dropping a 104-102 decision.

Garnett (14 points, 11 rebounds) and fellow All-Stars Paul Pierce (28 points) and Ray Allen (19) combined for 61 points for Boston, which trailed by 20 points in the third quarter before staging a furious rally in the fourth.

The Celtics will try to end a three-game slide to the Warriors, who beat them twice last season, including a 96-95 decision here.

The Warriors are coming off Tuesday's 108-82 triumph over the New York Knicks.

Baron Davis scored 31 points and Stephen Jackson - in his second game since returning from suspension - added 23 for Golden State, which has won three straight after starting the season with six straight losses.
