Wade, Heat aim for first winning streak of season

Nov 21, 2007 - 2:36 PM Atlanta (3-7) at Miami (2-8) 7:30 pm EST

MIAMI (Ticker) -- Dwyane Wade and the Miami Heat aim to build off their recent success when they host the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday.

After dropping a one-point loss to Boston, Miami bounced back with a 91-87 triumph over the undermanned New Jersey Nets on the road Saturday.

Wade led the way with 23 points and nine assists in his second start since returning to the court after recovering from offseason knee and shoulder surgery.

Wade seems back to normal, averaging 23.0 points, 7.5 assists and 2.3 steals since coach Pat Riley placed him back in the starting lineup two games ago.

On Tuesday, Atlanta dropped the opener of its three-game road trip and third straight game with a 95-83 setback at the hands of the defending champion San Antonio Spurs.

Hawks coach Mike Woodson hopes to have one of his three point guards available in this one, as rookie Acie Law IV (ankle), Tyronn Lue (groin) and Speedy Claxton (ankle) all remain uncertain.

The Heat swept the season series last campaign and have not suffered a home defeat to Atlanta since enduring a 76-73 loss on February 5, 2002 - a span of 11 straight meetings.
