Mavericks, Rockets continue Texas rivalry

Nov 21, 2007 - 2:41 PM Dallas (8-2) at Houston (6-5) 7:30 pm EST

HOUSTON (Ticker) -- Dirk Nowitzki finally found his shooting touch, which could be bad news for the rest of the NBA.

Nowitzki will look to continue his scoring surge when the Dallas Mavericks visit the Houston Rockets on Wednesday.

The All-Star forward had come close to scoring 30 points in a game this season before going off for 32 on Wednesday in the Mavericks' 105-99 comeback win over the Toronto Raptors.

Nowitzki buried four 3-pointers in a row to close the third quarter and cap a 24-point comeback.

Dallas has won four straight games, all from the comfort of their home court. It will now embark on a three-game road trip, with the struggling Rockets serving as the first stop.

Houston has dropped four in a row and has been without All-Star guard Tracy McGrady for the last two contests after he suffered an elbow injury in the first half of a 93-90 loss to the Lakers on November 14.

McGrady is questionable for Wednesday's contest.

The Mavericks won the first meeting of the season with the Rockets, 107-98, on November 6. Jason Terry led the way with 31 points off the bench for Dallas and Josh Howard added 21.

McGrady had 35 points in the setback but shot just 12-of-31 from the floor.

  • chairmanlau so mcGrady hurt is shooting arm. what? mcGrady can't play left-handed? My little cousin, tiffany, can play left-handed!

of course, she IS left handed. and she doesn't have to shoot over dirk. she's also imaginary.

but still, my point is that mcGrady is a sissy.
