Pistons open four-game homestand vs. slumping Knicks

Nov 21, 2007 - 2:45 PM New York (2-8) at Detroit (6-4) 8:00 pm EST

AUBURN HILLS, Michigan (Ticker) -- Chauncey Billups and the Detroit Pistons return from their tour of the Western Conference to host the slumping New York Knicks on Wednesday.

Billups was back in the lineup Sunday after missing two games. But his presence was not enough, as Detroit dropped a 105-95 decision to the Sacramento Kings on the final leg of a five-game West Coast swing.

However, the Pistons return back home, where they are undefeated in two matchups - including a 24-point win over the then-unbeaten Los Angeles Clippers on November 9.

New York also enters Wednesday's contest looking to bounce back.

Talented but troubled guard Stephon Marbury scored 18 points to lead five others in double figures, but the Knicks still dropped their seventh straight game - a 108-82 setback to the Golden State Warriors at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday.

"This is New York, and when you're playing well you get cheered, and you play this poorly you get booed and there's a lot of venom that comes at you," Knicks coach Isiah Thomas said.
