Star big men set to battle when Magic meet Spurs

Nov 21, 2007 - 3:16 PM Orlando (10-2) at San Antonio (9-2) 8:30 pm EST

SAN ANTONIO (Ticker) -- Dwight Howard and the Orlando Magic have enjoyed their time away from the Magic Kingdom this season.

Howard and the surging Magic put their unbeaten road record on the line Wednesday when they travel to the AT&T Center to visit Tim Duncan and the San Antonio Spurs.

The Eastern Conference's Player of the Week, Howard leads the NBA with 10 double-doubles and is averaging 22.2 points and 14.3 rebounds this season.

Due in large part to Howard's efforts, the Magic are 7-0 on the road for the first time in franchise history. The last NBA team to open a season with eight straight road wins was the 1996-97 Houston Rockets.

Howard will likely spend much of Wednesday's contest matched up with Duncan, a nine-time All-Star who has averaged 24.7 points and 12.2 rebounds in his career against Orlando's young center.

San Antonio, which is 6-0 at home, picked up its sixth win in seven games on Tuesday - a 95-83 over Atlanta - as guard Tony Parker poured in a season-high 31 points.
