Spurs go for encore performance vs. Grizzlies

Nov 23, 2007 - 4:42 PM Memphis (3-8) at San Antonio (10-2) 8:30 pm EST

SAN ANTONIO (Ticker) -- The San Antonio Spurs are coming off what coach Gregg Popovich called their best performance of the season. That was in a home game where they were outshot and trailed at halftime.

The Spurs look to improve to a league-best 8-0 at home when they host the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday.

San Antonio posted an impressive 128-110 victory over the Orlando Magic on Wednesday, committing a franchise-low three turnovers.

The Spurs shot 52 percent (48-of-93) to Orlando's 56 percent (42-of-75) but overcame a 64-59 halftime deficit.

"This was a fine, fine win against a really good team," Popovich said. "This was probably our best win of the year, without a doubt."

Tony Parker scored 32 points and dished out nine assists while Tim Duncan added 20 points and 16 rebounds for the Spurs, who remained one of five NBA teams with a perfect home record.

Memphis is coming off a tough setback - a 95-89 loss to the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday.

Both Pau Gasol and Mike Miller scored 16 points and grabbed 10 boards for the Grizzlies, who have lost four of their last five games.
