Warriors welcome in Nash, red-hot Suns

Nov 26, 2007 - 7:47 PM Phoenix (11-2) at Golden State (5-7) 10:30 pm EST

OAKLAND, California (Ticker) -- The Golden State Warriors are starting to round into shape, but they will need to bring their "A" game on Monday.

Baron Davis and the Warriors will try to end the red-hot Phoenix Suns' eight-game winning streak when the Pacific Division foes meet Monday at The Arena in Oakland.

After starting out the season with a disappointing 0-6 record, Golden State has managed to turn things around to win five of their last six games.

Kelenna Azubuike made a 3-pointer from the left corner with six seconds left in overtime, helping the Warriors earn a 100-98 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday.

A large amount of Golden State's recent success can be pointed in the direction of captain Stephen Jackson, whose scored in double figures in each of his four contests since serving a seven-game suspension to start the season.

The trio of Steve Nash, Amare Stoudemire and Grant Hill all scored at least 20 points as Phoenix continued its impressive run with Friday's 113-94 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Suns are just one win away from setting a new franchise mark to start a campaign.

"I don't think we're playing as great as we have in certain streaks in the past," Nash said. "But we're still building. It's early in the season, so the record's great considering."
