Martin injured again as Nuggets host Pacers

Nov 27, 2007 - 4:13 PM Indiana (6-8) at Denver (9-5) 9:00 pm EST

DENVER (Ticker) -- The Denver Nuggets, who have been suffering through injuries this season, try to overcome their latest blow on Tuesday when they host the Indiana Pacers.

Kenyon Martin will not be available for the Nuggets on Tuesday after suffering a bone bruise to his right knee during Saturday's 109-81 loss to the Houston Rockets. The 29-year-old forward is listed as day-to-day.

Martin, who has missed 106 games over the last two seasons after having microfracture surgery on both knees, is averaging 8.6 points and 4.9 rebounds in 13 games this season.

Martin is just the latest blow to Denver, which has also been without the services of back-up point guard Chucky Atkins, forward Nene and center Steven Hunter.

Jermaine O'Neal, who missed the Pacers' last three games with swelling in his left knee and lower leg, is expected to play on Tuesday.

Despite O'Neal's absence, the Pacers have won two of their last three games without the big man - including a 111-107 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Friday - after losing seven of eight with him in the lineup.
