Raptors look for win against Grizzlies without Ford

Nov 28, 2007 - 2:09 PM Memphis (5-9) at Toronto (7-7) 7:00 pm EST

TORONTO (Ticker) - The Toronto Raptors look to improve their record without T.J. Ford on Wednesday when they host the Memphis Grizzlies.

The club's starting point guard, Ford has missed the last three games due to a stinger on his left side. Ford, who suffered the same injury against the New Jersey Nets during last season's playoffs, is hoping to return this weekend.

Toronto has posted a 2-1 record without its injured point guard - including a 93-78 victory over the Chicago Bulls on Sunday. Jose Calderon scored 19 points and collected a career-high 14 assists to pace the Raptors against the Bulls.

Calderon has done a great job stepping in for Ford, averaging 12 points and 11.7 assists. He had 10 points and eight assists during his first start, a 95-89 victory over the Grizzlies last Wednesday.

Memphis is coming off Tuesday's 110-103 win at New Jersey. Pau Gasol scored 22 points to lead the way.
