Timberwolves seeking first winning streak of season
Nov 28, 2007 - 2:18 PM Minnesota (2-10) at Dallas (9-5) 8:30 pm ESTDALLAS (Ticker) - The NBA's worst team meets a championship contender on Wednesday when the Minnesota Timberwolves visit the Dallas Mavericks.
The Timberwolves have been absolutely dismal this season, winning just their second game, 103-94, against the New Orleans Hornets on Monday. The victory snapped a five-game losing streak - already Minnesota's second five-game slide this campaign.
Minnesota ranks near the bottom of almost every statistical category, including points scored and point differential.
The Mavericks haven't looked like the team that went an NBA-best 67-15 last season, but appear to be a contender in the Western Conference despite entering Wednesday's game having lost three straight games.
Dallas lost the last two games of a three-game road trip before enduring a 110-98 setback to the Washington Wizards on Monday - their first loss home loss.
The Mavericks went 36-5 at home last season and are 6-1 this season at American Airlines Center. Dallas hasn't lost to Washington at home since 2001 - a span of five games.
