Wizards excelling without Arenas
Nov 28, 2007 - 2:22 PM Washington (7-7) at San Antonio (12-3) 8:30 pm ESTSAN ANTONIO (Ticker) - Playing without Gilbert Arenas isn't easy, but the Washington Wizards are excelling without their injured superstar.
The Wizards go for their eighth win in 10 contests Wednesday when they take on the San Antonio Spurs.
Washington snapped a brief two-game slide on Monday, claiming a 110-98 victory against the Dallas Mavericks. The Wizards have posted a 3-2 record without Arenas, who is expected to miss three months after undergoing knee surgery last week.
The Spurs have picked up right where they left off after winning the NBA title last season. San Antonio is off to its best start in franchise history but suffered a rare loss on Monday, a 112-99 setback to the Sacramento Kings.
San Antonio is 8-0 at home.
