Wizards, Sixers looking to get on track

Nov 30, 2007 - 3:39 PM Washington (7-8) at Philadelphia (4-10) 7:00 pm EST

PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- The Washington Wizards have cooled off of late. The Philadelphia 76ers are still waiting to get hot.

The struggling Sixers will try to energize a disappointing season on Friday when they host the Wizards.

Philadelphia is 2-8 over its past 10 games, and just three of those losses have been by less than 11 points. In seven of the eight losses, they have allowed at least 95 points.

Andre Iguodala is a budding star in the NBA, but he has had trouble carrying the struggling Sixers in the early going. He is leading the team in scoring with 18.3 points per game and is averaging 5.5 assists.

Iguodala scored 20 points on 8-of-12 shooting on Wednesday, but Philadelphia allowed the Utah Jazz to shoot 55 percent (39-of-71) from the floor and turned the ball over 16 times in a 106-95 loss.

Washington has been just as poor defensively of late, allowing at least 98 points in its last six games.

Not known for their defense, the Wizards are having trouble outscoring opponents without the services of All-Star Gilbert Arenas, who is out for the next three months after knee surgery.

Washington beat the Sixers, 116-101, on November 20 behind 26 points and eight rebounds from forward Andray Blatche.
