Cavaliers hope to have James against Raptors
Nov 30, 2007 - 3:51 PM Cleveland (9-7) at Toronto (8-7) 7:00 pm ESTTORONTO (Ticker) - A pair of All-Stars may be watching from the bench when the Cleveland Cavaliers visit the Toronto Raptors on Friday.
Cavaliers superstar LeBron James injured his left index finger before halftime of Wednesday's 109-74 loss to the Detroit Pistons and did not return, watching from the bench in street clothes after the half.
His status for Friday's game is uncertain, while Toronto probably will be without star forward Chris Bosh, who suffered a groin injury during the team's 103-91 win over Memphis on Wednesday.
Cleveland was clearly not the same team without their leader on the floor Wednesday, getting outscored 61-31 in the second half.
Conversely, Toronto rallied without its fallen star, putting seven players in double figures and outscoring the Grizzlies 30-10 in the second quarter.
Toronto's Andrea Bargnani also left the game with an injury, banging his knee early in the fourth quarter. The injury is not expected to sideline him for Friday's game however.
The Raptors have had their share of ailments as point guard T.J Ford has missed the last four games due to an injured left thumb. Ford may be a game-time decision Friday.
The depleted Toronto lineup may have to lean on point guard Jose Calderon, who scored 13 points and dished out 10 assists without committing a turnover on Wednesday, and swingman Anthony Parker, who scored 19 points against Memphis.
