Pistons face Hornets seeking fifth-straight win

Dec 5, 2007 - 3:35 PM Detroit (12-5) at New Orleans (12-6) 8:00 pm EST

NEW ORLEANS (Ticker) -- The Detroit Pistons go for their season-high fifth straight win on Wednesday when they visit the New Orleans Hornets.

The Pistons have been dominant over their winning streak, outscoring their opponents by an average of 23.8 points a game while winning all four games by at least 11 points.

Detroit continued its winning ways on Tuesday as Tayshaun Prince led the way with 23 points en route to a 106-95 win over the Atlanta Hawks. Prince was just one of seven Pistons who scored in double figures as many of the starters sat out the fourth quarter after taking a 26-point lead.

Prince looks to continue his strong play against the Hornets. The 27-year-old forward is averaging 20 points on 60.3 percent shooting over his last six road games and registered double-doubles in both games against New Orleans last season.

The Hornets enter the contest with three wins in their last four games after a three-game losing streak.

New Orleans picked up its first win in 22 meetings with the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday, claiming a 112-108 overtime win.

Peja Stojakovic hit a 3-pointer with 2.9 seconds left in regulation to tie the game before the Hornets picked up their first win against the Mavericks since November 1999 in the extra session.
