Clippers, Sonics looking to turn around dismal starts

Dec 5, 2007 - 3:41 PM LA Clippers (6-10) at Seattle (3-15) 10:30 pm EST

SEATTLE (Ticker) -- The Los Angeles Clippers and Seattle Supersonics look to put their early season struggles behind them when they face off on Wednesday.

The Clippers have lost six straight games - including a 87-78 setback to the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday as they let a 13-point halftime lead slip away. Los Angeles had a chance to win the game in the fourth quarter, but made just 1-of-11 shots from the field in the final session.

It was the second straight game the Clippers fell apart in the fourth after making only 1-of-15 shots against the Indiana Pacers on Sunday.

The current slide is Los Angeles' longest since dropping eight in a row in February of 2005.

Despite having the NBA's best rookie this season in Kevin Durant, the Sonics struggled in the first month of the season. Their woes continued on Sunday, as Seattle suffered a 109-96 setback to to the Golden State Warriors - its seventh loss in eight games.

Durant, who was named the NBA's rookie of the month for November, scored six points and made just 2-of-12 shots against the Warriors. It was the first time this season that Durant was held below 10 points.
