Suns looking to scorch Raptors

Dec 5, 2007 - 3:43 PM Phoenix (14-4) at Toronto (10-8) 7:00 pm EST

TORONTO (Ticker) - The Phoenix Suns historically have little trouble with the Toronto Raptors and look to continue their dominance on Wednesday when the teams meet for the first time this season.

The Suns have won seven straight against the Raptors and enter Wednesday's contest red-hot, having won three in a row and 11 of their last 13.

Amare Stoudemire has been a huge part of Phoenix's recent success and turned in his best performance of the season on Tuesday. The All-Star center scored a season-high 42 points and matched a season best 13 rebounds en route to a 121-117 victory against the Indiana Pacers.

Stoudemire, who missed three games earlier this season after having arthroscopic surgery on his right knee on October 2, has been a dominating presence in his last six games, averaging 26.7 points and 10.5 rebounds while shooting 59.2 percent from the floor.

The Raptors may have an even more difficult time beating the Suns on Wednesday as they will be without Chris Bosh and Andrea Bargnani.

Bosh, who leads the team with 18.8 points and 7.9 rebounds a game, will miss his fourth straight game with a groin injury while Bargnani, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2006 draft, will miss his second consecutive game with a knee injury.
