Suns look to stay hot against Wizards

Dec 7, 2007 - 2:47 PM Phoenix (15-4) at Washington (9-9) 7:00 pm EST

WASHINGTON (Ticker) -- A long road trip clearly has not slowed down Steve Nash and the Phoenix Suns.

Nash and the high-scoring Suns shoot for their fifth straight win Friday when they continue their road trip against the Washington Wizards.

Phoenix has won the first three contests of its five-game road trip, averaging 124 points over that stretch.

A two-time league MVP, Nash is averaging 12.3 points and 16.7 assists during the road trip. Nash dished out a season-high 18 assists Wednesday as the Suns outscored the Toronto Raptors, 136-123.

Leandro Barbosa scored 35 points and Amare Stoudemire added 25 for Phoenix, which set a season-high for points and has won 12 of its last 14 games.

The Wizards enter Friday's contest on a winning streak of their own, having won back-to-back games against the Raptors and Cleveland Cavaliers.

Caron Butler scored 29 points against the Raptors before pouring in 27 and seven rebounds Wednesday en route to a 105-86 victory over the Cavaliers.
