Wade, Heat hope to end four-game skid
Dec 7, 2007 - 3:23 PM Miami (3-15) at Golden State (10-8) 10:30 pm ESTOAKLAND, California (Ticker) - The slumping Miami Heat's tour of the West Coast hasn't gone well thus far, but they hope to things around on Friday.
Miami looks to snap its season-worst four-game losing streak when the visit the surging Golden State Warriors on the fourth stop of its six-game road trip.
Superstar Dwyane Wade had 21 points and 10 boards, and rookie Daequan Cook scored a season-best 20, but it wasn't enough as the Heat fell at Portland, 112-106, on Thursday.
"It may look like a nightmare now," Wade said. "We'll wake up one day from it. It doesn't get any easier from here. We just can't turn the ball over and give other teams easy baskets."
While the Heat try to find their identity, Golden State has been one of the hottest teams recently.
Since captain Stephen Jackson re-joined the team on November 18 following his six-game suspension to start the 2007-08 season, the Warriors have posted an impressive 9-2 record.
On Wednesday, Jackson and Baron Davis each poured in 20 points the help Golden State breeze to a 120-90 win over the Milwaukee Bucks.
The Warriors should be even stronger with the return of swingman Mickael Pietrus, who is expected to back after missing the past two games with a nose contusion, suffered against Seattle.
Miami has won the last three straight meetings here with its last road loss in the series coming on November 12, 2003.
