Kings still searching for first road win of the season

Dec 8, 2007 - 3:39 PM Sacramento (7-11) at Denver (12-8) 9:00 pm EST

DENVER (Ticker) - Life away from Arco Arena has not been good for the Sacramento Kings so far this season. It will not be any easier without their leading scorer.

The Kings will go for their first road win of the season when they take on the Denver Nuggets on Saturday.

At 0-7, Sacramento is the only team in the league who have yet to win on the road this campaign.

The Kings played their first game without Kevin Martin - who leads the team in scoring at 24.5 points per game - on Friday, suffering a 97-87 setback to the Los Angeles Clippers. Sacramento was outscored, 56-35, in the second half of Friday's contest and were led by Ron Artest's 21 points.

Denver is coming off a 122-109 victory at Dallas on Thursday and are led by Carmelo Anthony and Allen Iverson.

The duo is combining for 50.7 points per game (Iverson has 25.5) and are the only two players who have led the Nuggets in scoring for each contest.

The reigning Defensive Player of the Year, Marcus Camby, has been steady for Denver as well, ranking second in the league in rebounds at 14.9 and blocks at 3.25 per contest.

Sacramento and Denver split the four meetings last season with the Nuggets winning the last two.
