Mavericks visit struggling Knicks

Dec 10, 2007 - 1:58 PM Dallas (13-8) at New York (6-13) 7:30 pm EST

NEW YORK (Ticker) - The Dallas Mavericks will look to continue their recent success against the lowly New York Knicks when the teams meet Monday.

The Mavericks have won 10 of the last 11 meetings with the Knicks but are just 4-6 in their last 10 games overall.

At 13-8, Dallas is more than halfway to last season's loss total, when they went 67-15 for the sixth-best record in NBA history. Dallas currently sits 4 1/2 games behind San Antonio (17-3) after winning the Southwest Division by nine games last season.

The Mavericks also are 4-4 against the Eastern Conference this season after going 27-3 vs. the East all of last campaign.

Dallas is coming off a 125-117 victory over Utah on Saturday, powered by Josh Howard's career-high 47 points.

The Knicks were swept in a home-and-home series against Philadelphia this past weekend, including an embarrassing 105-77 loss at home on Saturday. New York's starting five scored just 25 points, while Nate Robinson scored a season-high 25 points off the bench.

The pair of defeats dropped New York into last place in the Atlantic Division and the Knicks are 6-13 for a third consecutive season.
