Warriors hope to face Spurs without Duncan

Dec 11, 2007 - 2:39 PM San Antonio (17-3) at Golden State (11-9) 10:30 pm EST

OAKLAND, California (Ticker) - The Golden State Warriors would not mind if Tim Duncan misses a fourth straight game.

Baron Davis and the Warriors aim to get a rare win over the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday.

Duncan, who has missed the last three games because of a knee injury, has tormented the Warriors throughout his career. Since entering the league, Duncan has helped San Antonio beat Golden State 33 times in 38 meetings.

Duncan is averaging 21.9 points and 12.0 rebounds in his career against the Warriors.

Despite not having Duncan for the past three games, the Spurs are riding a season-high five-game winning streak. Manu Ginobili scored a season-high 37 points off the bench in Friday's 104-98 victory over the Utah Jazz.

Davis has been carrying the Warriors, averaging 23.1 points and 8.5 assists. He collected 20 points and eight assists in Sunday's 123-113 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers.

It was only the third loss in the last 14 games for Golden State, which has been getting stellar play out of former Spur Steven Jackson. Jackson, who is averaging 21.8 points over the last 13 games, spent two years with San Antonio and helped it win a championship in 2002.
