Wade, Heat aim for first three-game winning streak of season

Dec 13, 2007 - 1:51 PM Washington (11-10) at Miami (6-15) 8:00 pm EST

MIAMI (Ticker) -- After a dismal start to the season, Dwyane Wade and the Miami Heat appear to be headed in the right direction.

The Heat shoot for their first three-game winning streak of the season Thursday when they host the Washington Wizards.

Miami opened its season with five straight losses and won just four games in the first month of the campaign.

After dropping their first four games of December, the Heat responded by winning each of their last two games - their first winning streak of the season.

Wade scored 31 points and added six assists Monday to lead the Heat to a 117-113 victory over the Phoenix Suns.

After missing the first seven games of the season while recovering from offseason shoulder and knee surgery, Wade has scored over 30 points in the last three games and is averaging a team-high 22.7 points and 6.4 assists this season.

The Wizards also have won their last two games - including a 102-88 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday.

Caron Butler scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for his third double-double of the season.
