Spurs look to avoid another road loss
Dec 19, 2007 - 2:03 PM San Antonio (18-6) at Memphis (7-17) 8:00 pm ESTMEMPHIS, Tennessee (Ticker) - Life without Tony Parker has been more difficult than the San Antonio Spurs expected.
The Spurs look to avoid their first three-game road losing streak in over two years when they travel to the FedEx Forum to meet the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday.
Parker has been nursing a sprained ankle and the team has gone 1-2 in his absence.
A loss to the Grizzlies would give the Spurs three consecutive losses on the road for the first time since April 13-20, 2005.
There is reason for optimism though.
The Spurs have defeated the Grizzlies twice already this season and in nine of its last ten meetings. They also could benefit from the absence of center Pau Gasol - who has missed Memphis' three games with a jammed right big toe - and forward Darko Milicic (left ankle).
The Grizzlies are allowing 106.6 points per game, second-worst in the league.
