Jackson, Warriors visit slumping Timberwolves
Dec 19, 2007 - 3:17 PM Golden State (14-11) at Minnesota (3-20) 8:00 pm ESTMINNEAPOLIS (Ticker) - The Golden State Warriors aim for their third consecutive win over the lowly Minnesota Timberwolves when they face off on Wednesday.
On the second stop of a five-game road swing, Stephen Jackson registered his first double-double of the season with 28 points and 12 rebounds in Monday's 125-117 triumph over the Memphis Grizzlies.
"A win is a win, so we'll take it, especially after our performance in our last game," Jackson said. "Really, I think right now, we're still trying to find our identity. We've got a whole bunch of young guys who are trying to get acclimated to the system."
The victory came one day after the Warriors were crushed by 22 points by the Detroit Pistons in the opener of this season-long road trip.
With Golden State capturing the final two meetings last season, Minnesota has won four straight games in the series at the Target Center - including a 121-93 win on February 7.
Al Jefferson collected 22 points and 20 rebounds, but it wasn't enough as Minnesota dropped to 1-12 on the road with Monday's 91-87 setback to the Miami Heat.
Wolves fourth-year guard Sebastian Telfair will have a tough time defending Baron Davis, who is able to score in the paint against smaller guards with his low-post game.
