Road-weary Raptors face off against Sonics

Dec 21, 2007 - 5:44 PM Toronto (15-12) at Seattle (7-19) 10:30 pm EST

SEATTLE (Ticker) -- The Toronto Raptors and Seattle SuperSonics are in similar situations. Both teams are looking up at teams in their respective divisions that are looking to pull away.

The Raptors face the Sonics on Friday in the third game of a seven-game road trip against Western Conference teams.

Toronto, trying to keep Boston in sight in the Atlantic Division race, are 1-1 so far on the trip following Wednesday's 101-96 loss at Portland.

The Raptors, who don't return home until January 4, also have games at Phoenix, San Antonio and Houston. Jose Calderon scored 19 points against the Blazers, while Chris Bosh had 18 points and 11 rebounds.

Bosh has been particularly effective against Seattle, averaging 25.7 points and 11.3 rebounds as Toronto has won two of the last three games against the Sonics.

Seattle has lost its last two games, including a 107-93 home loss to New Orleans on Wednesday.

In those games, the Sonics shot 37.8 percent from the field. The Sonics are looking up at Denver, Portland and Utah in the Northwest Division.
