Pacers hope to rebound vs. Wizards

Dec 22, 2007 - 3:33 PM Washington (13-12) at Indiana (14-13), 7:00 pm EST

INDIANAPOLIS (Ticker) - The Indiana Pacers have no problem putting the ball in the hoop. It's stopping the other team that's a problem.

The Pacers will look to rebound from an embarrassing loss when they host the Washington Wizards on Saturday.

Indiana dropped a 131-118 decision to the worst team in the NBA - the Minnesota Timberwolves - on Friday. It was the second time this season that the Pacers have allowed over 130 points in a contest.

They rank worst in the Eastern Conference in points allowed, allowing 104.8 points per contest. However, Indiana makes up for the defensive deficiencies with the top-ranked offense in the conference, scoring 104.9 per contest.

Mike Dunleavy has been the main beneficiary of new coach Jim O'Brien's high-octane attack, averaging a career-high 17.5 points. He poured in 30 in Friday's loss - the third time this season he has reached the 30-point plateau.

The Wizards boast the third highest scoring offense in the East, with swingman Caron Butler and forward Antawn Jamison filling the void left by injured star Gilbert Arenas.

The teams have split two meetings this season, with each winning on their home floor.
